The studio
Our current project is Koi Kanji Widget for Android. Its home-screen widgets show kanji; in the app, you can check readings and meanings and practise in short sessions.
Koi pairs a customisable widget with exercises for readings, meanings, vocabulary and writing. Meet a kanji when you unlock your phone, then explore it further when you have time.
Entries bring together On and Kun readings, words, example sentences and stroke order. JLPT filters help you find material at the right level.
Organise review with favourites, hidden or viewed kanji and collections. Progress and areas to reinforce help you decide what to revisit next.
Choose themes, colours and widget options. We care about readability and a consistent feel between the app and your home screen, across widget sizes.
Koi keeps your organisation and preferences on your device. Preserving favourites, collections, settings and progress when the app updates is a development priority.
Koi is in closed beta. We are reviewing the experience, polishing details and improving features before expanding availability. Feedback and issue reports help.
